Animal control firm's owner faces charges
The owner of a McKees Rocks animal control company that contracted with dozens of local communities to pick up and destroy stray animals collected more than $37,000 in state reimbursement for euthanizing dogs that didn't exist, state police say.
Bernard Dudash, 74, owner of Triangle Pet Control Services, was charged Thursday by summons with theft by deception and tampering with public records.
According to an affidavit, Mr. Dudash directed his employees to inflate the number of dogs being destroyed in reports to the state Department of Agriculture starting in 2007 because he said the company needed more money....
