Willing Hearts Dalmatian Rescue, Inc.
A non-profit organization dedicated to helping unwanted, abandoned Dalmatians in shelters find loving homes. We foster all Dals in our homes, bring them up to date on vet care and spay/neuter. We cannot take in owner relinquishments for foster, but we will assist the owners in a search for a new home if they continue to physically and financially support their Dal.

Some of you may know, perhaps others not, but the SW PA area has very few rehabbers anymore.  WWI finds itself serving not only Westmoreland, but Fayette, Somerset, Bedford, Greene, Washington, Beaver, and parts of Butler and Indiana.

In some cases, the finders of wildlings are simply unwilling to make the trip.  In other cases, they have limited transportation and/or cost of gas is prohibitive.  In the past, Lisa and I have been doing the runs when necessary, but with the increased need and the increased administrative demands on Lisa's time, this is becoming a real problem.

We are therefore trying to recruit folks who are willing to become part of a transport team - not only to pick up or deliver critters, but sometimes just run errands in special situations where we are being offered large material donations, etc.

"Signing up" for this team puts you under no obligation to agree to every request or need to feel like you are on call.  But if you feel you may be willing to help on occasion, please come on board.  If you won't mind us asking, we certainly won't mind if you have to say "No."  We can, if you would like, reimburse you for your gas/time.  The state currently allows us to reimburse travel costs to non-employees at 15 cents/mile.  It's not much, but we'd be happy to do so.

Once we get feedback from all of you, we will make up a list with name, phone#'s and home location.  That way, we can find the best matches for the destination in question.

We also frequently need critters taken to vets for surgeries and most of them are in the greater Pgh. area.  Any and all help is truly welcome.

As always, thanks in advance for your consideration.  We can't do it without you!
