If your pet is of the barking kind, and you must leave them behind,

Dogs are allowed on the beach year-round only with a special license and with certain hour restrictions during the summer season. A special license is required for your dog to go on the beach. You do not have to be a resident of Dewey Beach to get the license. You can obtain one from the Town of Dewey Beach during regular business hours at 105 Rodney Avenue in Dewey Beach. The cost is $5 per dog and is good for the lifetime of your dog. During the summer, from May 15 to September 15, dogs are only allowed before 9:30am and after 5:30pm. During the off-season there are no hourly restrictions. Year-round, dogs can be off-leash but need to be under your control at all times and cleaned up after. |
